New Delhi: After naming A.Raja on 2G spectrum chargesheet, CBI ready to file a case against Dayanidhi Maran, for his alleged wrongdoing as telecom minister to favour Aircel after its ownership changed hands to the Malaysia-based Maxis group.
"The preliminary investigations showed enough evidence to merit filing of a regular case against Maran. This will be done by the end of September," CBI sources told TOI on Tuesday.
When the nation's prime investigating agency investigates a case, it registers a PE (preliminary enquiry). If it gets enough evidence to sustain a prima facie case, it lodges a regular case against the accused. Most regular cases (RCs) result in the filing of a chargesheet against the person accused of committing the crime.
